This week, we took what we learned from our bouncing ball assignment and animated a second pass. For this iteration I wanted to add a little more of a sense of space and narrative. I also added in some lighting with a warm cast to create some shadows. There is a tangent between the top of the cube and the horizon which is fixed in the next iteration.
Placing the ball at the top of the cube allowed me to roll it to the edge and create some anticipation. I also focused on making the stretch of the ball match the arc of its bounce, and I toned down the squash and stretch a little. It still needed to be reduced a little for the final pass. In the first pass, the ball didn't rotate at all which made it look a little bit like it was floating, so in this pass I made sure to make the ball rotate around its axis.
