For the second pass of my walk cycle I wanted to focus on secondary elements of the walk now that I felt like I had a grasp on the basics. The lecture that week was on weight and balance so I made a specific effort to show the balance moving from side to side. I also added a lot more secondary motion. The shoulders swing back and forth, the hips have a lot of rotation, and the head is moving back and forth.
I also added a slight squash and stretch to the body to give it more of an illusion of weight. One of the newer techniques I learned was breaking the joints. You bend the joint further than it would normally go to exaggerate the motion, and the hyperextension goes mostly unnoticed in the final animation.
